Le Waala

Welcome to Le Waala! It is a nicely furnished, centrally heated 4 bed apartment in a modern block in Les 2 Alpes, France. There are 2 bunk beds and a comfortable double sofa bed; dining table and 4 chairs; a modern bathroom with bath, shower and unlimited hot water; cooking facilities including crockery, cutlery and pans/utensils, kettle, hob, microwave, fridge and slow cooker; and a south facing balcony. Duvets and pillows are provided and you can either bring your own bed linen, or hire from us. There is a lift and a lockable ski cupboard on the ground floor.

Le Waala is ideally situated, within walking distance of all the amenities in resort and is 200m from the main ski-lifts.

The apartment is available to rent winter and summer in a resort which offers high altitude ski-ing/boarding in winter and in summer, glacier ski-ing, walking, mountain biking, white water rafting and more! Visit www.les2alpes.com for more details.

 

Winter season (Mid December to April)

Les 2 Alpes offers some of the best ski-ing and boarding in the Alps, with 220km of marked piste, some of the most challenging black runs you’ll find and a superb off-piste area in the La Grave sector. There is also a whole valley length of nursery slopes. The resort caters exceptionally well for boarders, with several snow parks, rails, jumps etc. Most of the lift system is cable car/chair lift, reducing the need to look inept on draglifts! Snow is guaranteed throughout the winter season and the majority of the terrain is between 2200m and 3600m.

There is also an ice rink, an outdoor heated swimming pool and numerous shops and restaurants.

Lift passes can be bought on-line at www.les2alpes.com or in resort at the main lift station or at the tourist office - no photo required, as all passes are now electronic.

Boot/ski/board hire is available at several shops in resort.

 

Summer season (Mid June to end of August)

All the amenities and restaurants open for the summer season. Activities on offer include:

• Summer ski-ing on the glacier
• Huge numbers of mountain walking routes on marked trails
• Mountain biking routes - bike hire is available in resort and the chair lifts will take bikes
• There is a summer toboggan run, golf, tennis, swimming pool and archery available in resort
• Sailing, canoeing, pedaloes and white water rafting are available on the lakes and rivers below resort
• Adventure park (high wires, zip wires etc.) and horse riding at Venosc, accessible by cable car from resort

 

Prices 2009

This year we are charging 250€ per week for the summer season and 420€ per week for winter season. Bed linen hire is 30€ per week. Please note we do not provide towels.

Drive	90 minutes drive from Grenoble St Geoirs airport or 2 hours from Lyon airport - car hire from www.carbookers.com Les 2 Alpes is 10-12 hours drive down the motorway from Calais
Flights	www.ba.com for flights to Lyon or Grenoble from various UK airports, including Gatwick www.easyjet.com for flights to Grenoble from Luton or Gatwick and from Stansted to Lyon
Rail	www.raileurope.co.uk  will sell you tickets for Eurostar/TGV from St Pancras or Ashford to Lyon Part Dieu or Grenoble

From Lyon airport, www.satobus.com runs a direct service to Les 2 Alpes
From Grenoble airport, www.grenoble-airport.com provides a bus to Grenoble central bus station, from where regional bus company www.vfd.fr go direct to Les 2 Alpes
