01825 840368The meat sold in our shop is free range and/or naturally reared and is from our own or other named local farms. A board in the shop tells you the name and location of the farm and the breed of the animal. All meat is slaughtered at our local abattoirs in Sussex. We are a traditional butcher's shop - all meat is cut on the premises to your individual requirements. Our award winning sausages and burgers are homemade. We sell our own high quality, naturally reared beef from our herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, fed on home grown grass, hay and silage and hung for 3 weeks. Our cattle graze in the fields throughout the summer and spend the winter in our cattle barns in the farmyard. The calves stay with their mothers and suckle until they are 8-9 months old and a real bull visits each spring! We are part of the Sussex Producers Consortium, which has bought a share of a local pie factory, which uses locally produced meat in its pies. The pies are also available to buy from our shop.
