FARM TOURS AT BRADFORD'S FARM

From Easter until September, we offer prearranged tours of the farm to school groups and groups of adults. We are accredited by the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) to host school groups.

Tours for up to 30 people involve a ride around the farm, seated on a purpose-built trailer, with frequent stops for explanations from the farmer, followed by a tailor-made session undercover. We have educational information and seating facilities.

The whole tour typically takes about two hours, but we can be flexible, according to your needs.

In 2007-2008, we will be growing wheat, barley and oats. Visitors can see the crops growing in the fields or being harvested, handle the grains and see examples of the end products.

Part of the farm is in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, which provides hedges, field margins and other features which aim to enhance the environment and encourage wildlife. We also have a herd of Aberdeen Angus beef cattle and calves, which are a popular part of the tour; chickens; donkeys; horses and pigs.

We can provide refreshments (small extra charge), or groups are welcome to bring their own.Toilet and hand washing facilities are available, as is car / coach parking space.
